Festival News

Plans are shaping up well for the 2008 Film Festival - we've got an exciting guest list, with musicians, poets and  film directors all eager to choose "My Favourite Film", and talk about it with the audience.

In addition, we'll be screening a Gaelic Film, made in 1934, by the cinematographer Werner Kissling, about the remote Scottish island of Eriskay, entitled "A Poem of Remote Lives", plus some very recent Gaelic short films made by school children.

We'll be showing films aimed at local young people - "Surf's Up" and "High School Musical" are must-see films! Want to learn more about animation? Anthony Farqhar-Smith worked as an animator on "The Corpse Bride" and as well as showing the film, he'll be talking about what it's like to be an animator.

In addition to all the events which we are hosting, Cromarty Arts Trust will be holding an  Art Fair at The Stables, with artwork from many talented Highland-based artists; this will be an exciting opportunity to purchase original works, which would make for an unusual Christmas gift! The Art Fair will be open on: Thursday 4th and  Friday 5th December from 2 pm till 6 pm: Saturday 6th from 11am till 1pm, and Sunday 7th from 11am till 6pm. Don't miss it!
